Albert Bierstadt, 1830 - 1902
Famous for his landscapes of the American west, Albert Bierstadt moved from Germany to the US with his family when he was just 3 years old. He was part of the Hudson River School school of painting - A 19th century American group of artists who painted idealised and romanticised landscapes.
