Satyr with Peasants

Drag and drop the pieces to solve this puzzle

Jacob Jordaens (1593 - 1678)
An assistant to Rubens, Jordaens was born and died in Antwerp. Early on he was influenced by Caravaggio (especially in his use of light and shade) but it was also inevitable that he should be influenced by the flamboyant style of Rubens, although his paintings did become more "sober" in later life when he became a Calvinist.

Satyr with Peasants c 1620-21 is from the Aesop fable about the Satyr and the man who blew hot and cold. The painting represents a variation on the more usual tale of the Satyr and the Traveller. (If you are not quite sure what a satyr is, or rather supposed to be, check Wikipedia)

This is not the only version of this subject by Jordaens and in fact it has been illustrated by others, for example Jan steen's painting now at The Getty Center, Los Angeles and Johann Liss's The Satyr and the Peasant, possibly c. 1623/1626 at National Gallery of Art, Washington

This particular painting is at the Alte Pinakothek in Munich.
