Fra Angelico 1395 - 1455
(Full name: Il Beato Fra Giovanni Angelico da Fiesole)
Fra Angelico was a Florentine painter and friar. Its no surprise that his p aintings are religious in nature.

Noli me tangere, 1440-41, Fresco
Noli me tangere is Latin and means "don't touch me". These are the words (allegedly) spoken by Jesus to Mary Magdalene after his resurrection (John 20:17) As the text was originally written in Greek, the translation sometimes is given as "stop clinging to me". It has been suggested that this rebuff of Mary by Jesus was included in Biblical texts by the Church in order to diminish the importance of Mary Magdalene to Jesus.
