Paul Cezanne 1839 - 1906
Cézanne was born in Aix-en-Provence, in southern France. He left for Paris to pursue his painting career in 1861. He is now regarded as a Post-Impressionist painter, providing a bridge between the 19th century Impressionist school of painting with the early 20th century Cubist movement.
Cézanne has a very distinctive, bold style of painting and encompasses portraiture, landscape, townscape, seascape and still life subjects.
